Robert Jasper Leonard was the son of Albert Leonard and his first wife, Rose Ellen Hollenbeck. Robert was employed by the Cortland County Highway Department for 29 years. He retired in 1980 and died two years later, on September 16, 1982, after ten or more years of suffering greatly from the effects of diabetes. He was 58 years old and is buried in Marathon Cemetery with no headstone marking his grave.
