Wed., 8/13 Spent this day putting myself together and resting. Received a card from my Belgian soldier of war. Related to my family about my journey. Hoping next year to go further away. Wrote two letters. Cleaned my stoves and retired. Canned all my huckleberries (great). 18 quarts.
Thurs., 8/14 Up early, started to clear the closets which looked as though someone had thrown all the clothes around. Cleaned upstairs and made supper. Going over to call on Edith, Diana and Hazel. Some visits I part in such short time. Heard great stories. Had ice cream and came home. Had Ruth with me.
