Samuel Wood was born April 3, 1716 in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts. He married Jerusha Abbey and died on January 27, 1807 in Massachusetts. (He may have died on January 22, 1807).


Samuel served in Mansfield, Windham Co  CT as PVT under CAPT Simeon Smith and COL Philip B Bradley;  He was a Prisoner at Fort Washington;  His record is found in "Connecticut Men In the Revolutions" page 420 as well as a Brown book by Walter LeRoy Brown and M.   2. Gideon Wood (1759-1843)
  3. Nathan Wood (1761-1836)
