Biography

Edward Morgan was born in Wales in 1660. In 1698, he went to Pennsylvania and settled north of the Welsh settlement at Gwynedd. He bought land in Gwynned in 1704 and moved there in 1708. He was a tailor by trade. See Spraker's "The Boone Family", p. 542-544. His home in Towamencin Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The log home in Towamencin Township, a few miles from Gwynedd Meeting, is a museum. You can visit the web site HERE.

Edward Morgan & Elizabeth Jarman were the parents of my ancestor,

  1. Elizabeth Morgan (1693-1750) married Cadwalader Morris in 1710.

  2. John Morgan (1694-1746)

  3. Sarah Morgan (1700-1777) married Squire Boone. They were the parents of the famous pioneer, Daniel Boone.

  4. James Morgan (1702-1782)

  5. Enoch Morgan (1717-1784)
