Biography
Enez and Eve George were the parents of Catherine George, who was born on January 23, 1790, in Pennsylvania. They are buried in Dutch Hill Cemetery in Bloomsburg, Columbia County, Pennsylvania.
“George” is an ancient Greek surname with many of alternate spellings including “Georg” and “Jorg”. George became a popular first name at the time of the Crusades and many adopted the surname in reverence to St. George, the 3rd century martyr.
