Biography

John Hemingway (or Hemeway) was born on April 27, 1641, in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He married Mary Trescott in Dorchester, Massachusetts, on October 6, 1665. He died on October 4, 1724 in Roxbury. (Note: Some report their marriage date as Aug 6. This is most likely caused by Old Style dating. Before 1752, the first month of the year was March. Therefore October was the 8th month. If the date was written 8/6/1665, most people would assume it means August but at that time it referred to October.)

Children

John Hemingway & Mary Trescott were the parents of my ancestor,
