Biography

Mary Nancy Carter was born in 1732, most likely in Cecil County, Maryland. She married Jonathan Boone, brother of Daniel Boone, the famous pioneer, in Rowan County, North Carolina in 1750. According to her memorial on Findagrave, she died in 1800 in Fayette County, Kentucky, and was laid to rest in Joppa Cemetery, Mocksville, Davie County, North Carolina. The distance between Fayette County, Kentucky, and Mocksville, N.C., is no less than 300 miles. Information posted on her husband's memorial conflicts with this information, stating the following: "m1 Mary CARTER b 1732 prob Cecil Co, MD d Rowan Co, NC. death date of Mary not known, however her last child Daniel was b 1775 so it was after that date. Jonathan then m Elizabeth DAGLEY 23 July 1798...  Source:The Boone Society".

It seems likely that Mary was buried in Joppa Cemetery, as Jonathan's parents are also buried there, but her place of death should be confirmed.
