Died in Sempronius. John Shirley, formerly of this city, died last Saturday night at the home of John Adams in Sempronius, aged 83 years. His home until a month ago had been Harford. He is the father of Royal Shirley of Harford and grandfather of W.D. Shirley, 46 Clinton Ave., this city, also of Misses Gertrude and May Shirley of Cortland. The funeral will be held in Moravia at 10 o'clock. (Cortland Standard Feb. 2, 1903)
