Genealogy Resources for Ulster County, New York

Ulster County was one of the original counties of New York State when counties were established in 1683. Delaware County was formed from parts of Ulster and Otsego Counties in 1797. Then, in 1800, Greene County was formed from parts of Ulster and Albany Counties. Finally, Sullivan County was formed from part of Ulster County in 1809. The County Seat is Kingston.

Ulster County encompasses approximately 1,126 square miles* in the State of New York.
