Genealogy resources for Lyme, New London County, Connecticut
Lyme was named May, 1667. Local records show that Lyme was set off from Saybrook by a committee in 1665. The First Congregational Church was organized in 1693, located in South Lyme. The Second Congregational Church of Lyme was organized at East Lyme in 1719. This church has lost its early records. The Third Church of Lyme, organized in 1727, in Hamburgh, has also lost its early records. Some records from the First Church remain. (ECM Book 3)
