L. John Reese died at the age of 93 on the 27th of January, 2005, at Cortland Memorial Hospital. He was 93 years old. He was buried on the 31st of January, 2005, in the Reese plot at Willow Glen Cemetery (Lot 24; Section 8) in Dryden, Tompkins, New York. His obituary is shown here:
