If you had ancestors who worked in the coal mines, check out this great find! At the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission's site you can now view Coal Miner Records including employment cards, accident reports, and more.
This reminds me of a song I heard a few years ago, which, even though I don't appear to have any coal mining ancestors, struck a chord. "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive", sang by Patty Loveless. I love this bluegrass song! (Not my song, channel or video...just enjoy!)
