Catherine Smith was born in Ireland in 1840 and died in Texas Valley, Cortland County, New York on February 9, 1895. The cause of death was heart failure, perhaps associated with the severe snowstorm that hit the region that weekend. Catherine is buried in Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Whitney Point, Broome County, New York.
Note: In the NY Death Index, her name given as "Kate McGinnis" (Cert #22376), stating that she died in Cincinnatus. Her obituary, however, says she died in nearby Texas Valley.
Catherine Smith & William McGinnis were the parents of my ancestor,
See William McGinnis.
