Biography
Benjamin Fitts was born in 1727 to Robert & Hannah (Dike) Fitts. He "moved to Sutton with his father". Benjamin was married twice and fathered 19 children.
He married first to Sarah Fairfield of Wenham on Oct. 31, 1749. They had at least five children before Sarah died, between 1759 and 1762. He married second to Mary Cook on Dec. 19, 1762. Late in life he moved from Douglas to the southeast part of Oxford, bought some land and built a house there. He died February 14, 1803 and his widow, Mary, died Nov. 11, 1837, at age 95.

- Edward Fitts, born Feb. 10, 1759. Killed in the Revolution)
