Biography
Eli Dykeman, Sr., was born in 1765 or 1766 in Fairfield, Connecticut. He married in Connecticut, abt. 1792 to Zilpha Parks. In 1800, he lived in Butternuts, Otsego, NY, in 1810 he lived in Spencer, Tioga, NY, in 1820 and 1830 he lived in Danby, Tompkins, NY, and in 1850 he lived in Candor, NY. He died on 24 Aug 1855 and Zilpha died less than six months later, on 4 Feb 1856 in Candor, NY. They are both buried at Maple Grove Cemetery in Candor.

(Note: Michael P. Dykeman married Roxy Cass and had eight children, including Orin F. Dykeman (1828-1916). Orin was found in Candor on every census from 1850-1915. Orin married Betsy Bogardus and had a son named Arthur Ephraim Dykeman born 22 June 1863 and died 10 Feb 1948 in Candor. Arthur was found in Candor on several censuses. He married Anthela “Thela” Lanning in 1890. This Arthur, son of Orin, was the 2nd Cousin 1x removed of Vena). He died on August 24, 1854 in Candor, NY.
