Biography
Elizabeth Hewes (or Hues) was born in Royston, Hertfordshire, England, on April 10, 1603. She was part of the Puritan Great Migration. She was admitted to the church at Roxbury as member #102 in 1634. She was a maid-servant. She married Ralph Hemingway on July 5, 1634, at Roxbury. Her relative, Joseph Hewes, was a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
