Nathan Wood was born on April 16, 1761, in Mansfield, Tolland County, Connecticut. He married Lucy Johnson and their daughter, Nancy Wood, married John Brown. Nathan was a veteran of the American Revolution. He enlisted at Mansfield, Tolland, Connecticut, in May of 1777, and was in a company of Militia under the command of Capt. Wales in Col. Latimore's regiment. He was wounded at Ticonderoga. He moved to Lisle, Broome County, New York, in or soon before 1806. He moved from Lisle in 1825 and died in Chautauqua County, New York, in November of 1833 (or possibly 1836). He is buried in Arkwright Cemetery.
