Biography

Ralph Hemingway (or Hemenway) was probably born in England before 1609. He was part of the Puritan Great Migration. He was an early member of the church at Roxbury and was admitted as member #96 in 1633. He was single and listed as "Ralph Hinningway, a man servant". By 1639 he was one of the largest land owners in Roxbury. He married Elizabeth Hewes in 1634 in Roxbury. That same year, he took the freeman's oath there. His will was dated May 4, 1677, and he died in June 1678.
