BREAKING HOME TIES

Breaking Home Ties was painted by Norman Rockwell as the cover for the September 25, 1954 edition of the Saturday Evening Post. This painting was purchased for $900 in 1960, by cartoonist Don Trachte Jr., and was hidden behind a false wall in his Vermont home. It was discovered in 2006 by Trachte's sons who sold it at auction for $15.4 million dollars.
