Norman Rockwell painted this for the Saturday Evening Post Cover for August 27, 1960. Rockwell painted himself into the bottom left corner of this painting. Perhaps it is a scene he witnessed on one or more occasions. A sailor makes conversation with a pretty young blonde. They are under the watchful eye of the well to do members of Manhattan's University Club.
