Charles Leonard married Artie Smalley in Ovid in 1880. (Click here). His family was counted on the census in the Town of Covert. On the NY State Census in 1905, it indicated they lived in the Village of Interlaken, in the town of Covert, Seneca County, New York. Charles' occupation was "Furniture & Undertaking". They were still there in 1920, when the census was taken. Charles' wife, Artie, died on Dec. 14, 1923, and he died two months later, on Feb. 11, 1933.
Note: Charles middle initial appears to read "F" on some census records, and was transcribed that way, however, his memorial at Lake View Cemetery gives his middle initial as "T".
