Charles Leonard Jr. of Hancock, Delaware, New York, was born abt. 1828. He was a descendant of John Leonard of Springfield. He was counted in the household of his father on the census of Hancock, Delaware, New York in 1830, 1840, and 1850. His age was reported as 22 in 1850 and 32 in 1860. In 1860 he was counted in a separate home next door or near to his parents as follows: Charles (32), Pilinda (31), Lowell S. (6), and William (39, an ‘invalid’).

Charles Jr. had married Philinda b. 1829 and had one known son, Loren S. (1854-1937). In 1870 he was in Hancock with himself Charles (42), Philinda (40), Loren (16), and Mello SCUTT (30). In 1880 he was in Hancock. He was 51, Philinda was 49, and George GRANT, his nephew, was 12. In 1892 Charles Jr.’s family was still in Hancock. Loren was 36 and there was also a woman age 35, named Flora in the home. She was either Loren’s wife or sister.
