William Nichols was in Capt. Thomas Eaton's Company of Militia, Col. David Green's Regiment, in Reading, Massachusetts.

Entered the conflict at Concord. Coburn's transcription of the roster gives his name as ___ Nicholls. Massachusetts Soldiers & Sailors of the Revolutionary War, Volume 11, p. 435 names William Nichols, in addition to the other Nichols men in the company. Jeremiah and Simon Nichols are also listed, but they were in training. William Nichols marched on the alarms and served 11 days, so this blank is now filled.
