Samuel Woodward was a Sergeant in Capt. Amariah Fuller's Company of Minutemen, Col. Thatcher's Regiment, in Newton, Massachusetts.

The Company marched from Newton to headquarters at Cambridge on the alarm. Entered the conflict at Lexington.
