New York Naturalization Records

Did you know you can access thousands of New York Naturalization Records online for free? I was thrilled to find a handwritten copy of one of my immigrant ancestor's handwritten declaration of intention of citizenship, filed soon after he settled in Central New York, in the early 1850s.

You can browse or search the collection on FamilySearch using this link.

Tip: Be sure to try various spellings and variations if you have a hard time finding a match. If you find a match, let us know!
