Polly L. Whitmore (or Wetmore) was born about 1838 in New York and married John W. Jacobs between 1855 and 1860. She died on May 10, 1908, at the age of 70, probably in Candor. John died the following year.
Polly's death was announced in the Owego Daily Record on May 21, 1908 as follows:
"Died, Sunday, May 10th, Mrs. John W. Jacobs, aged 70 years. The funeral was held Wednesday, Rev. E. B. Singer officiating. Interment in Maple Grove cemetery."
