James Wetherbe was in Capt. William Whitcomb's Company of Militia, Col. James Prescott's Regiment, in Stow, Massachusetts.
The men of Stow didn't reach Concord in time to engage, but pursued the British so closely as to deserve special mention. James Wetherby is not found in Massachusetts Soldiers & Sailors but all the other Wetherbe's in the company are and one was found that isn't in Coburn's list, that is, Joseph Wetherbe (MMSS Vol 16, p. 924)
