Mary Esther Harvey

Mary Esther Harvey was born on the 16th of March, 1910, in Newark Valley, Tioga County, New York. She was the daughter of Newman A. Harvey and his wife, Gertrude E. Shirley. She had four 3rd great-grandfathers who fought in the American Revolution. On the 18th of April, 1930, she married Lloyd John Reese, better known as “John Reese”, who was born 21 Apr 1911 in Muncy Valley, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania, a son of Maynard Washington Reese and Ada Rebecca Temple. It was a double wedding with Mary's sister, Ruth, also marrying the same day.

John and Mary divorced and Mary married second, William H. “Bill” Gaul Sr., on the 19th of October, 1962, at Dryden, New York. He was born on the 24th of November, 1897, in Bloomsburg, Columbia County, Pennsylvania. Mary died at the age of 78 from colon cancer, on the 22nd of September, 1988, at Cortland Memorial Hospital in Cortland, New York. Her funeral was held two days later and her remains rest at Willow Glen Cemetery (Lot 19-39), in Dryden, Tompkins County, New York, with her sisters and parents. John Reese died at the age of 93 at Cortland Memorial Hospital on the 27th of January, 2005.
